THE HOLY WARS
George Junghanns, ISBN 1-881946-15-0, published 2002, hard cover, 142 pages with illllustrations, $15.00
Review by Dr. Kurt Reckman - Continental View
I read THE HOLY WARS with intense curiosity because it covers a field, which - so far - has not received the care George Junghanns, gave. The details it reveals are astonishing. Astonishing too is the clear language it is written in; an abstract scientific style mingled with a vivid popular prose. One gets the feeling of floating through history - a kind of time tunnel feeling. The author spreads out an enormous knowledge concerning the unsolved riddle and the numerous theories about the role Halley's comet played through the ages. A fascinating book.

The book explains how the consumer is exploited by the unstated strategy of Big Business; i.e., 'YOUR TIME IS THEIR MONEY, " and much more in this assessment of the profit motive ranging from E-mail squelching to hospital advertising. COSMOLOGY
A low-temperature theory whereby space is perceived as an accelerant. At 89% the speed of light, a hydrogen mass explodes, generating partially formed galaxies that incubated during acceleration. The theory predicted the recently established flatness and continuous expansion features of the universe. Unlike the Big Bang, the antimatter and horizon questions are readily answered. The frozen hexagonal-hydrogen fragments of what was the cosmic egg during acceleration also address the standing question of "missing matter."

CLASSIC MYSTERY NOVEL
Far more than a "whodunit," a unique detective is set forth. Schooled in the ancient art of the Ninja, he finds his way through the sadistic plots. His mysticism enhances his remarkable escapes in the quest for an Egyptian art treasure. Set against the glamour and flair of Manhattan, the hero's namelessness becomes a provocative social statement as well. ISBN 1-881946-00-2, THE CLEOPATRA KISS, George Junghanns, hard cover, 164 pages, $14.50.

A FORGOTTEN CHRISTMAS STORY
The book is a replica of an 1852 work published by Mrs. M.H. Maxwell under the title of "A String of Pearles." It was originally printed as a "tiny" book, which may explain why it is not better known. The memorable experience comes through two girls, who decide that adopting children can be the best gift of Christmas. Besides being a work that presents the timeless values we all cherish, with its poetry and poignant illustrations, we have an intimate view of the bygone world of Old Boston. A Christmas Song of Old Boston, ISBN 1-881946-04-05, pubished 1973, 31 pages, fully illustrated, $7.50.
BIGFOOT AND THE WILDERNESS ARTIST
by George Junghanns
ISBN 1-881946-05-3, published 1994, paperback, 100 pages, with illustrations, $8.50. The work is a diary that records an encounter with an unknown force in the Adirondack Wilderness. It includes 16 sketches by the author, besides photos, covering the three summer months of the experience. The work presents some unique time-altering moments as part of the overall mystery of nature. It is this, and the author's vision of the wilderness that gives the work its unique distinction. An extract appears after the cover picture.
While ungainly in appearance, the Pine Sawyer's music can enchant anyone on a moonlit night. It can be compared to a violin bow on a Stradivarius with out strings. The one who inspired this sketch had mistaken me for a tree, and was lifted to his proper place by the wooden shaft of my paint brush.
Mr. Junghanns plans to include a number of his wilderness paintings on this web site some time in the autumn.
